Here is my list of Top Best Practices when working with Power BI. 1) Only import what is necessary. 2) Remove unnecessary interactions between visuals. 3) Limit number of visuals on a page. 4) Use Drill-throughs to avoid too much detail on single page. 5) Avoid Hierarchical Filters to optimize loading time. 6) Use separate gateways for live connections and scheduled refreshes. 7) Categorize data to make high business impact data more secure. 8) Properly rename query transformation steps. 9) Always go for explicit measures over implicit measures. 10) Use DAX variables to reduce evaluations count. 11) Follow naming conventions while referencing measures and columns. 12) Use only certified custom visuals whenever necessary. Had a Power BI Sugar Rush 🍩 today and I ended up with this minimal Sales Executive Dashboard using Enterprise DNA Ltd's first challenge dataset in only 4 hours. Flexing my brain cells around bookmarks for true dynamic experience. I believe it can be improved in a lot of ways i.e. page tooltips, dynamic titles, KPIs instead of Cards etc. Looking forward to all the critical feedback.
